GenCon Day 3

Day 3 had to probably be the best time we had at GenConIndy 2010. It started off with Hickmans Killer Breakfast. If you have never attended, you don’t know what you are missing. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. Unfortunately, we arrived about 10 minutes too late to get a ticket to be killed up on stage. This year was the first year they had ever sold out of the event. Let me tell you this, Tracy and Laura Hickman are probably the most down to earth people I have ever had the pleasure of talking with. After the killer breakfast (and a marriage proposal on stage (unscripted I might add), we headed downstairs to eat some lunch. Then we headed to the Sagamore room for Learning to play 4th edition D&D. We had a great DM. He explained the basics to us (and four other players of which I was the oldest at the table). Then we started playing from the red boxed set of D&D Essentials (was told it will be available possibly by the end of the month). We played for four hours and only had ONE character death. Funny thing is, this player was trying to sacrifice his buddy to the white dragon and the female necromancer. But all in all, it was great.

For dinner, we met up with Kat and Aaron at Bynum’s Steakhouse (http://bynumssteakhouse.com). Dinner was awesome, conversation was even better. We almost had to be rolled out of there.
